Our Story

Founded in 1986 by Mohammed Chowdry and Samuel Jackson, Dixy Chicken quickly won UK fans with its Halal-certified fried chicken. A major boost came in 2008 when Church’s Chicken sold the brand to Dixy Group Holdings Ltd., giving it the resources to expand in Britain and abroad.

Growth & Innovation

Between 2014–2019, Dixy Chicken surged: dozens of new Midlands outlets, its first Birmingham drive-thru, and a footprint surpassing 120 UK stores. Its Halal menu helped catapult the brand overseas to Pakistan, India, the United States, New Zealand, and beyond. In 2022, sole ownership transferred to Mr Bhatti, setting the stage for the chain’s next chapter.
